About Jirani

Rebuilding the culture of togetherness, one estate at a time.

Why We Built This

Across Kenya, we live a few feet apart, yet most of us barely know the people sharing our walls, gates, and streets. WhatsApp estate groups are chaotic. spam, emojis, forwarded messages, and important security alerts buried under noise. The result? Neighbors become strangers, and communities slowly disconnect.

We asked ourselves: What would Kenya look like if neighborhoods actually felt like communities again?

  • A place where you know who lives at Gate B.
  • Where borrowing a ladder doesn’t feel awkward.
  • Where a suspicious sound is everyone’s concern, not just yours.
  • Where security, trust, and connection are shared.

That’s the Kenya we believe in.

The Spirit Behind Jirani

Our name says everything. “Jirani” means neighbor. And behind that is the deeper truth of Ubuntu I am because we are.

Jirani exists to rebuild the culture of togetherness we grew up with. A digital space rooted in care, responsibility, and community. A reminder that real safety and real support come from the people living right next to you.

Joining Jirani isn’t just creating an account. It’s participating in something bigger. A movement to rebuild Kenyan neighborhoods.

Our Core Values

Trust

Every user is a real person with a verified location. No trolls, no anonymous chaos, just genuine neighbors.

Privacy

What happens in your estate stays in your estate. Your data is not sold, shared, or used to track you.

Hyper-Local

Your feed is only about what actually matters: what’s happening within 5km of your home. No nationwide drama.

Our Story

We started Jirani because we lived this problem ourselves. We missed important estate alerts. We struggled to find reliable fundis nearby. We saw neighbors only meet during emergencies. A fire, a break-in, a cry for help.

It became obvious: Kenya needed a modern, safe, dedicated way for neighbors to stay connected. So we built it.

Founded by Gabriel Moseti and Dennis Munene, Jirani is our commitment to rebuilding community, one estate at a time.

Built with ❤️ in Nairobi.
